Orthodontics for Adults

Orthodontic treatment can be successful at any age, and adults especially appreciate the benefits of a beautiful smile. One of every five patients in orthodontic treatment is over 21, and this number is increasing. Dr. Jeannotte has extensive knowledge and experience in adult orthodontics and welcomes patients of any age. He particularly appreciates the enthusiasm adults share when they see and feel the changes in their bite and smile.

Adults often present with complex problems that require a team approach to treatment. If necessary, Dr. Jeannotte will work with your dentist and/or other dental specialists to achieve an ideal result.

Limited treatment (braces on only some of the teeth) is also common in adults. Your dentist may recommend repositioning teeth with orthodontics prior to reconstructive work (crowns, bridges, implants), or to make it easier to access areas between teeth for cleaning. Adults who have lost supporting bone around their teeth may require treatment by a periodontist (specialist of the gums and supporting bone) before, during and/or after orthodontic treatment. In certain cases, Invisalign (orthodontics without braces) is a great option for adults.
